Maggie Breen was born in Wexford. She lives in Dingle, Co. Kerry. Her debut collection of poetry, Other Things I Didn’t Tell, was published in 2013.  She is shortlisted for the Listowel Single Poem Prize in 2016.  She was awarded a literary bursary from Kerry County Council in 2016. She was long listed for the Fish Poetry Prize in 2015. She has been published in The Stony Thursday Book, The Stinging FlyCrannóg and Southword, among other publications. She was guest editor for The Scaldy Detail, Anthology of Writing, which was launched in February 2014.  She has performed readings at Cáca Milis Cabaret, Kildare Readers’ Festival and Ó Bhéal, among others. She has written, edited, presented and produced a 30-minute radio programme, as well as other radio projects, including a documentary for RTE Radio One, ‘Murt’s Eggs’, which was broadcast in September 2014. Maggie’s debut art exhibition, ‘Revealed’/’Tugtha chun solais’ was shown at Féile na Bealtaine 2014 in Dingle.

Bhí sí ar an bhfadliosta don Fish Poetry Prize i 2015 agus ar an ngearrliosta don Listowel Single Poem Prize i 2016. Bhí duais-sparántacht do litríocht á bhronnadh ó Comhairle Contae Chiarraí i 2016. Bhí sí ina n-eagarthóir aoi i gcomhar The Scaldy Detail, Anthology of Writing, seolta mí Feabhra 2014. Tá sí foilsithe i mbailiúcháin agus irishleabhair, The Stony Thursday Book, The Stinging FlyCrannóg agus Southword, ina measc. Tá clár raidió tríocha nóiméad á scríobh, n-eagrú agus léiriú aici agus d’oibrigh sí ar thionscnaimh raidió eile chomh maith. Bhí a clár faisnéise raidió, ‘Murt’s Eggs’, á chraoladh ar RTE Radio a hAon i mí Mheán Fómhair 2014. Bhí a céad taispeántas ealaíne á sheoladh ag Féile na Bealtaine sa Daingean i 2014.
